Congratulations to three Global MINDS @ Western Fellows for a well-deserved win! The Fellows [Education PhD student Robyn Masters (left), Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry student Michelle Quaye (middle), and Education PhD student, Richelle Bird (right)], won the Western World's Challenge Challenge. This local competition consisted of diverse student teams from across Western University who proposed innovative ideas to address global burden of mental illness in low-and middle-income countries.
The Fellows presented the CREATE Kenya project, drawing attention from the attendees on the Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Toolkit and the mandate of community-based rehabilitation. Their successful and enthusiastic presentation will allow them to compete in the International World's Challenge Challenge, held at Western University in June 2018, with a top prize of $30,000 CAD!
